It’s finally Fall and although the weather is trying to trick us into thinking it’s still summer, we know better. It’s time for football, tailgates and cozy nights at home. Hopefully, the weather will catch up, but until then, we wanted to share a few electrical projects that are perfect for this time of the year.

Here are three home electrical projects perfect for the fall:

· Light it up: Those shorter days might keep some of us in the dark…literally. This is a good time to re-evaluate a home’s lighting to see if more is needed to keep some brightness all year long. It’s also a great time to think about all the holiday entertaining and how lighting can enhance the festivities. It’s a good time to install light fixtures that wow, dimmers to create a cozy glow to your parties, and extra outlets to properly power a buffet line.

· Meet me outside: The secret about outdoor living in the Triangle is that fall is the best time. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, and spring is all a haze of pollen. Fall in North Carolina means barbecues, block parties…even trick-or-treating is a big outdoor party here. Throw in all the holiday decorating that is just around the corner, and fall is definitely the time to upgrade outdoor lighting and electrical systems to handle all the decorating and events of the season.

· Here comes the ice: After fall comes winter, which in central North Carolina can mean ice storms. In years with a lot of ice, the area sees a lot of power outages. Fall is a good time to consider a hard-wired generator. If a home already has one, it’s a good time to make sure that it’s working properly.

We don’t want to take away from the beautiful fall weather with too many home projects, but it’s also nice to take advantage of a new season to evaluate a home’s electric system. Contact AGK Electric to see how we can keep your home shining in the fall.
